Several options are available to augment the functionalities of IMADA-SS Testing Machines, including some models that come with the following features as a standard. However, it’s critical to acknowledge that certain models may not support these attributes.

Additionally, optional “Accessories,” “Attachments,” and “Software” are available to offer further personalization and versatility to meet particular needs.

Standard function

  • Load Cell
    Load measurement values are established using load cells, which have the capacity to measure loads ranging from 20% to 100% of the maximum load capacity. To ensure precise measurements when dealing with loads below 20%, it is advisable to incorporate an additional lower measuring range. It’s noteworthy that Imada Testing Machines conform to the JIS 1st class precision standard for load measurement, with JIS representing “Japan Industrial Standard.
  • Measurement of Displacement (※Not applicable for SV-55CB type)
    The testing machine is utilized to determine load-displacement relationships, which are vital in identifying material properties, including longitudinal elastic modulus and spring characteristics. Displacement measurement is achieved by gauging the level of displacement, with the testing machine automatically compensating for any differences between the jig’s and machine’s displacement.
  • Speed Control
    Speed control is a critical aspect of load measuring tests, with the SV-55CB type featuring a variable volume system that enables precise control. Established testing procedures, such as JIS, prescribe specific speeds for each test to ensure consistent and reliable results. Inputting numerical values into the system facilitates easy operation at the predetermined speed.
  • Cycle Movement Function
    Cycle Movement Function is a feature that allows machines to operate under pre-set conditions until reaching a specific number of cycles. The limits for both load and displacement can be adjusted, with the option to halt the machine after a predetermined time. This repetition feature is typically employed around 1,000 times for universal testing machines, while testing machines requiring tens of thousands of repetitions necessitate a more robust and durable machine.
  • Break Point Detection Function
    The Break Point Detection Function is programmed to automatically pause or reverse the testing machine when the test pieces reach their breaking point. This function preserves the displacement value at the moment of the rupture for further analysis.
  • Start Point Detection Function
    The Start Point Detection Function serves to establish an initial displacement value of “zero” through subtle contact, enabling precise measurements from the contact point onwards.
  • Self-Adjustment Function of Examination Start/End
    The Examination Start/End Self-Adjustment Function incorporates an “automatic feed function” that increases the machine’s speed during no-load conditions until the upper-side jig contacts the test piece. Moreover, the machine features an automatic return function to its original position at the test’s conclusion.
  • Judgment Function
    Judgment Function allows the establishment of specific load or displacement thresholds to determine whether the “Peak” or “Break” point falls within the defined range.
  • Language Switch
    The Language Switch feature enables users to choose between Japanese and English languages for the LCD screen display. Note that this feature is not available on the SV-55CB type.
  • Outside output
    Outside output is available for all models using a USB connection to a PC. Please confirm software compatibility.

Additional function / Option

  • Extended Length Specification – Please inquire for suitable models.
    The Model SV-55CB testing machine can test longer specimens by utilizing an extended shaft. Upon request, extra-long shafts, exceeding the standard length by 150mm, can be specially designed and manufactured.
  • Additional Load Range – Compatible models: All models except SV-55CB.
    To ensure comprehensive testing across various load capacities, consider choosing a testing machine that can accommodate multiple load ranges. If the load falls outside the standard range for a particular model, up to six additional ranges can be integrated by exchanging the load cell. However, the number of ranges that can be added depends on the specific model, so it’s advisable to inquire for further details.
  • Load Retention Function – Please inquire for compatible models.
    When the machine is halted under a designated load, the load value gradually diminishes due to the creep of the load cell and test piece. To sustain a consistent load, it’s imperative to reset the amount lost due to creep. This function manages and fine-tunes the load to return within the set range.
  • Load Speed Follow Function – Please inquire for compatible models.
    Load speed is the measure of how fast a load is transformed per unit of time. However, changes in the stiffness of the test piece can disrupt the load speed, even if the testing machine performs at a constant speed. To address this, the function continuously calculates the load speed and automatically adjusts the speed of the testing machine to ensure consistency.
  • Switch Feeling Examination (F-S Test) Function – Please inquire for compatible models. Additionally, the PC software (ISP-7) is required.
    This feature is tailored for switch feeling tests, providing the capability to measure the peak and bottom values of hysteresis with customized settings. Additionally, it enables repetition tests by allowing a predetermined number of iterations to be set.
  • Program Operation Function – Please inquire for compatible models. Additionally, the PC software (ISP-7) is necessary.
    This function offers a step-by-step approach, enabling the user to define load or displacement values for each step. With the ability to preset up to 99 steps, it provides detailed control.
  • External Output Option – SV-55CB does not support analog output.
    The incorporation of an optional output terminal enables the provision of analog outputs for load and displacement at 10V/FS each. Furthermore, a separate output terminal is available for printer connectivity.
